(((Hugs)))

Just so you know, you should qualify for FMLA as a teacher. You can take FMLA time intermittently though the year as you get new kiddos. I know as a teacher it is really hard to do, because your students are depending on you and they need the consistency...but you should qualify assuming you are full time.

It's unpaid time, which not many can afford to do these days, but it might help.

As for your kid passing you by while you foster these kids. Think of it as God's way of filling your home while you wait for your kids. We all wonder each time we say yes or no to a kiddo if we are doing the right thing...we just have to trust in His plan.

When we were licensing, we took a few weeks off and delayed the opening of our home because our DS had to have surgery. I was really worried that we were not going to wind-up with the kiddo that we were supposed to help. Well, the day our license was signed we got our 1st placement. We were told she would only be with us a few days until Grandma could take her. That was almost 2 years ago. We adopted her on her 1st birthday. God always has a plan for us, and these kids, however long they are with you are part of that plan. Adoption wasn't in my family's plan, so we had to trust that this was part of His plan for our family.
